Windows 7 Release Date

It's finally here! After months of agonizing wait, Microsoft finally says the release date is October 22nd for Windows 7. I quickly logged in to write this blog after I found out. For everyone who has Vista or Xp and wants to upgrade to Windows 7, you can pre-order at the Windows 7 homepage or here at TigerDirect.

Bypass 8e6 Filters

Ever been at a public library or at school and go to a website and find out it's blocked? Well, for some time, I wanted to go to Youtube on a computer yet it was blocked. After searching some time, I've found out it was impossible to bypass the filters were I was (8e6 Filter). Or so told. After searching some time, I found out it was very easy and needs only three things. In this post I will go over how to bypass the 8e6 filters to show to everyone it is not impossible. Note: This is only for educational purposes. If you do this at your school or public library or in a place where you shouldn't be doing, you are responsible for your own actions.

Step 1: Have a U3 Flash Drive

You need a U3 flash drive in order to install Firefox 3 on it, plus to add the rest of the things necessary. In order to install Firefox 3 on a U3 Flash drive, open the U3 Launchpad (it should be a CD icon). Once opened, go to Download Programs> Browsers> Firefox. Click on it and download it. Run it and it should install.

Step 2: Download Portable Tor

You will need this portable application that will allow you to use proxys in order to bypass the filter.

Step 3: Install Tor Button

Once you have Firefox installed, open it and go to Tools> Add-Ons> Get Add-Ons. Search Tor Button and download it and install it. You'll have too restart Firefox but don't worry.

Step 4: Begin the Process

Run Portable Tor. Open Firefox (if you haven't) and click on Tor-Button (Bottom-right hand corner)and enable it. Then right-click it and click on Toggle for Status. Once that is done you should be able to go to any website you want but it might take a while.

NimbleX

So, I've been messing around with some other operating systems out there for a while on my Mac and I find one to be very useful. It's called NimbleX. Why do I like it well you can create your very own NimbleX distributions! That means that you can choose your applications, wallpaper, greeting, and username. It's a very cool thing do do 'cause it's the only out there that you made! Here's the thing when using your custom NimbleX burn it onto a Live CD so don't wipe out your hard drive. i recommend some virtualization software like Virtualbox which is free and easy to use and can work with WIndows, OS X, and Linux. If it is really custimzed it should be around 700 MB, so it's your call. Here's the link.
