Wow! It's been quite a wile since I've touched this blog! Hahaha. Well I've been busy with other stuff (mostly school) and could not post anything up here! Well besides that I have a few updates I like to post! First of all, the SS project has been renamed to STORM -ストーム- (yes I'm still working on it!). The project has been in 4 years of development and many times it has been pushed aside but have hope! I have finally finished concepts and am planning to release the project around May~June 2012 due to school. Second, the technology on this blog will be updated! Soon! Be patient with me! Third of all, I have a new computer and can now do different experiments on it for you guys! So all of my past stumblers, dont' go anywhere! Sit down and enjoy the ride!

Virtual Detectives

Came across this while looking through PC Magazine, Virtual Detectives. That's right, according to PC Magazine teams of Virtual Detectives stalk In-Game Spammers, that's

"In-game characters controlled by individuals working for spam companies infiltrate these virtual worlds and bombard players with unsolicited ads for the sale of in-game virtual items like swords and even playable characters." - Pc Magazine

"This is forbidden by all game publishers within their player rules of conduct." - so Sony Online Entertainment(SOE)[Found on PC Magazine]

In summary, in-game spammers bombard players with ads for sale of in-game items. Kind of like e-mail spam but while playing MMO games. To read more about this head over to PC Magazine.

U3 Application

Okay. Remember when I posted an entry about U3 applications for the U3 Launchpad? Well, after a while, I decided to make one. The application I built is called Bible Explorer. It's based on Bible Explorer 4 which I have on my computer. I post the link here and if anyone wants to test it for me, go right ahead. Comment on this post if it's working or if it is not. Google Chrome OS- Part 2- The OS

In Part 2 of this Google Chrome OS investigation and review, we'll cover topics such as the User Interface (UI), functionality, and other stuff concerning the Operating System (OS).

We'll start with functionality of the Google Chrome OS.

First of all, according to Google's Official Blog, here, Google says they want to make an OS that is easy to use, boots fast, and is targeted towards people that use the Web alot.

So basically, it's an OS that is always connected to the Net, boots up fast, and easy to use.

So what about applications and media?

Well, there are going to be applications that allow you to make spreadsheets, edit documents, etc. But. They're on the web. Thus the name, if you heard about this term, Web Applications or Webapps(Go here to learn more about this). Basically, all the applications that you use are going to be on the web. Well at least we think, Google might change things.

Are there a lot of Web-Apps?

Well, yes. Google has a lot of free open-source applications(Go here) that they develop and then let others build upon that(thus the term open source). Some of these include Google Docs(Here), a Web-App that allows you to write up documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and forms. Google Calender(Here), are another Webapp that Google developed. Some others are Portable Playlist, an online audio player that allows you to listen to your favorite podcasts and music from any computer with a web browser. Gabbly, a webapp that allows you to chat with anyone in the web page you are currently visting by putting 'gabbly.com/'(without the quote of course). Sounds great! But what about personal touch-ups like wallpaper, screensaver, and other such things?

Well, Google Chrome OS is an operating system, so it sounds plausible. But, this is where cloud computing comes in.

Cloud Computing?

Cloud Computing is a style of computing that uses only the services over the internet to do things you would do in normal computing. To find out more info go here.

So what does that mean for me?

It means that there is a less likely the possibility of doing those things stated above. But as posted on Google's Official Blog it is based on the Linux kernel. Google also posted that it's solely aimed at people who just want to connect to the Internet. We just have to wait for the OS to come out. But don't fret! Anything can change until the release date!

Google Chrome OS- Part1 - Netbooks

Netbooks. Hmm. Remember when these were popping up in the market? Well, since I'm beginning to review Google Chrome OS I'm going to cover some basics.

Netbooks are what Google's new Chrome OS will come out in.

So,What are Netbooks?

Netbooks are generally laptops that are made more compact and efficient for people that just want to browse the web, check their e-mail, or do other stuff not that big of a task. These electronic devices have at least 1 2.0 USB port, 3.5mm audio jack, for headphones, a jack for microphone, a webcam(some), trackpad w/ either 1 button or two, a full-qwerty keyboard(compressed). Netbooks do not have CD/DVD-Roms installed, but could probably have it in the future.

So, why Netbooks if we have Laptops to do that and more?

Well, according to Google's Official Blog, most people don't want to wait a long time for their laptop or PC to boot up and/or their browser as well to access the internet.(Remember that most of people's lives nowadays are linked to the Net and want to constantly updated it to keep their Net life and Real life in sync)

Oh! I get it! But what about other stuff like media?

Remember when Google came out with Google Chrome not too long ago? Yeah, I do too. It's a great browser that has a lot of cool functions and Google wants to make an OS out of it. On Google's official Blog, here, Google writes that they want people to access web-content faster, boot times faster, without having to deal with those pesky viruses and malware. Sounds great, doesn't it? We'll see. I'll go over with my opinion of Google Chrome OS and what I think is expected. Stay tuned.

It's finally here! After months of agonizing wait, Microsoft finally says the release date is October 22nd for Windows 7. I quickly logged in to write this blog after I found out. For everyone who has Vista or Xp and wants to upgrade to Windows 7, you can pre-order at the Windows 7 homepage or here at TigerDirect.

Bypass 8e6 Filters

Ever been at a public library or at school and go to a website and find out it's blocked? Well, for some time, I wanted to go to Youtube on a computer yet it was blocked. After searching some time, I've found out it was impossible to bypass the filters were I was (8e6 Filter). Or so told. After searching some time, I found out it was very easy and needs only three things. In this post I will go over how to bypass the 8e6 filters to show to everyone it is not impossible. Note: This is only for educational purposes. If you do this at your school or public library or in a place where you shouldn't be doing, you are responsible for your own actions.

Step 1: Have a U3 Flash Drive

You need a U3 flash drive in order to install Firefox 3 on it, plus to add the rest of the things necessary. In order to install Firefox 3 on a U3 Flash drive, open the U3 Launchpad (it should be a CD icon). Once opened, go to Download Programs> Browsers> Firefox. Click on it and download it. Run it and it should install.

Step 2: Download Portable Tor

You will need this portable application that will allow you to use proxys in order to bypass the filter.

Step 3: Install Tor Button

Once you have Firefox installed, open it and go to Tools> Add-Ons> Get Add-Ons. Search Tor Button and download it and install it. You'll have too restart Firefox but don't worry.

Step 4: Begin the Process

Run Portable Tor. Open Firefox (if you haven't) and click on Tor-Button (Bottom-right hand corner)and enable it. Then right-click it and click on Toggle for Status. Once that is done you should be able to go to any website you want but it might take a while.

NimbleX

So, I've been messing around with some other operating systems out there for a while on my Mac and I find one to be very useful. It's called NimbleX. Why do I like it well you can create your very own NimbleX distributions! That means that you can choose your applications, wallpaper, greeting, and username. It's a very cool thing do do 'cause it's the only out there that you made! Here's the thing when using your custom NimbleX burn it onto a Live CD so don't wipe out your hard drive. i recommend some virtualization software like Virtualbox which is free and easy to use and can work with WIndows, OS X, and Linux. If it is really custimzed it should be around 700 MB, so it's your call. Here's the link.

Windows Vista SP 2 Beta

Yep, you read right. The beta for Vista Service Pack (SP) 2 has been released. If you're wondering if the problems that Vista SP 1 have been solved, apparently yes. But don't go downloading and installing Vista SP 2 because if a new problem arise you can't go back to Vista SP 1. Microsoft is planning to release Vista Sp 2 the first half of 2009. So if you can wait a little bit longer for the release, I hear it's better than SP 1, do so. But I'm gonna wait for Microsoft's Windows 7 since mostly everyone is saying it's the best OS Microsoft has made so far.

Cloverfield Theory

Alright, so after researching on Cloverfield. I'm starting to doubt that the date of the incident was on 1.18.08. Why? Well if you go to 1-18-08.com and look at one of the pictures with the date on them you'll see that they are in the morning. Okay, what's so strange? Well, after going to Rob Hawkins's Myspace, if you look at one of his posts it says the day and the time. Well on the last entry it looks normal. So far so good. But go to his brother's page (Hawk) and you'll see on the latest entry that it says 1/18/08, the time around 4 o'clock. Kay, what the heck? On 1-18-08.com the pictures were showing the time and date of the incident in the morning from 12:01 to around 1 in the morning but on Myspace the latest entry was around 4. 4 what? 4 AM? I doubt it. If they were running away from the monster why would he go on Myspace at a time like that? Could it be that when Hud used the camera the date was wrong, since he taped over the last recording, and it said 1-18-08? Maybe it was 4 PM when it was 1-18-08 and the incident might have happened after that date. But again I might be mistaken.

Apple got Sued?

Yep, they got sued by some company called EMG. The thing is that EMG sued Apple because they used one of their ideas of touching and scrolling and that internet content be reformmated from HTML to XML. EMG states that they had this patented(patent 7,441,196) , filed in November 1999. Apple has only gotten in the cell phone business 2 years ago. Seems Apple is in trouble because of their awesome products....

Mac OS X Snow Leopard

SO, there is also a new version of Mac coming out call Snow Leopard. Instead of changing the GUI (Graphical User Interface), Apple is working on making it more stable and faster because they want smaller devices to run better, have a longer battery life. They're also adding a treat for devolpers, which will allow them to devolp on the screen right there. The new Macs will be Intel-powered and Apple seems to be doing way better than Microsoft is. Though, Microsoft is catching up.

Alright, I have seen the GUI of Windows 7 and its' capabilities and I've got to say...wow. Not like the Vista commercial wow but Windows 7 wow. I mean it's taskbar is amazing! It's nothing like Vista's or XP's. The Jump List is an awesome new feature. The taskbar includes only icons-no details on the windows. The Windows Sidebar was scraped and added to the desktop. There's no more pesky "Updates Ready" bubbles coming from the icon tray. (Finally Microsoft does something right!)Everything, including the icon tray is user enabled. You choose what you want to see. Can't wait to use it. For more information go here.

First of all, this works because companies pay websites to give a product free and to recommend their products or their services. Secondly, you fill out all your information, I recommend that you put only where you live so they can send you the free thing, DON'T put any real info (EX. phone #).
